First Month Theme – "Knowing Jesus"
SALVATION’S MOTIVE
February 14, 2001
John 20:29
"Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen
and yet have believed.""

If I could just see Jesus, then I could really believe in Him with all my heart, with great faith!! Oh really? Thomas saw Jesus for 3 years and then doubted, even when he saw all that Jesus did! Did you know that there is absolutely no necessity of "seeing" in order to believe fully? Believing fully is the best way to really "see" and know Him deeply. In the book of I Peter 1:8, we read, "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy!" We do and can live by faith, not by sight. Your eyes can only focus on a few things at a time, but close those eyes and "believe." Believe His Word, what you saw in Scripture and then you will see how vast the grace and truth is in Jesus. Step out and joyfully trust Him in all that the Word of God says then you can experience all that He says. God is pleased with faith. You don’t have to see Him to know him. You do not have to see the future to know He’s already there! You don’t have to see Him receive your prayers by faith you know He does! You’ll grow deep by faith; you’ll stand firm by faith. You’ll be filled with joy, as you trust! (See Romans 15:13) Jesus said, "blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed!" He will always answer your faith.

Let’s Pray:
Blessed God, the window thrown open is faith in you. Faith flung open in your Word is the key to all heavenly reality flowing in. O Jesus, I put all faith in you!

See you tomorrow,
Pastor Russ
