First Month Theme – "Knowing Jesus"
SALVATION’S MOTIVE

John 6:29
"The work of God is this: to believe in the one he sent."

Such a small verse yet it reveals the desire of God. What does God want? God the Father sends the Son of God. Jesus is the "sent" one – sent to save, to redeem, and to bring us back to God. God wants us to "believe in" the one He sent. It is no little thing that God has done. He has sent servants like Moses and the Prophets but this is THE ONE; the "one and only," says John 3:16. This is God’s provision, this is God’s gateway back, this is God’s will – to send and give up Jesus on the cross in your place. God sent Jesus to reveal the nature, character and will of God. God sent Jesus with a plan and purpose. It involved the cross and the death of Christ. This provision is what God made, He now calls us to, and rightfully so, "believe" in the one He sent. Trust Christ, the Saviour of the world.

Let’s Pray:
Dear Jesus, I worship you now as my Lord and Saviour. How dear the thought that you were sent to take my place that I might have life. How I love you, Jesus!

See you tomorrow,
Pastor Russ
