First Month Theme – "Knowing Jesus"
SALVATION’S MOTIVE
February 7
John 3:17
"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn
the world, but to save the world through him."
.

What a scope! The inclusion of the entire world is put here in this verse. In John 3:16, we saw the "center" of the heart and motivation of God – He so loved us – He came! He came and gave His life in payment for all – yours, mine – all the sin committed or ever to be committed! He could have come to tell us how deeply we blew it. Yes, he could have revealed the depth of sin that we are guilty of, but the Scripture tells us for what reasons He DID and DID NOT come. Fact one: He DID come because He loved us. Fact two: He DID NOT come to condemn us. What does this tell you of the very nature of God? God is more interested in fixing the problem than in fixating on it! God came to reunite you to Himself, to bring you back. O the depth of the good mercy and love of God. Jesus was sent NOT to condemn, judge and imprison the world, He came to save it. Each time you tell someone of Jesus, tell them He was sent to save – to do good!

Let’s Pray:
Dear Jesus, I see more and more of your very nature in the reasons why you came. I bow in worship and I ask you to fill me with this great love of God. Please Lord; let me see others not as a judge, but as one like you – to bring life and love.

See you tomorrow,
Pastor Russ
