"I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that
gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder."
Gilbert K. Chesterton

"It is literally true, as the thankless say, that they have nothing to be
thankful for. He who sits by the fire, thankless for the fire, is just as
if he had no fire. Nothing is possessed save in appreciation, of which
thankfulness is the indispensable ingredient. But a thankful heart hath a
continual feast." ~W.J. Cameron

>From everyone at The Village Chapel, we hope you and yours have a great
Thanksgiving holiday. May the Lord bless you and fill your heart with hope
and wonder. May the Lord renew your faith and restore you as you pause to
reflect on His grace and mercy in your life.

*We hope to see you this Sunday, Dec. 1st for our regular worship service at
6 pm at the Hampton Inn in Green Hills/Nashville.

**Don't forget that we are also staffing the Room at the Inn outreach
ministry to the homeless this Sunday evening and all nightlong. If you still
haven't signed up to serve on a shift or would like more info call Scott
Hatcher at 330-4648.

***For those of you who come to our Wednesday evening Bible study in
Hillsboro Village, we'll be taking a short break for the holiday season and
will resume again in January with a brand new study of the New Testament
book of Hebrews. Mark your calendars now and plan to make the Wednesday
evening study a regular part of your week.

Last, there are some great new features on The Village Chapel website. On
the Village Square button look for some short essays by a few of TVC's
creative writers in the Coffeehouse. And in the Town Hall you'll find some
links to other sites that will encourage you in your faith and help in your
study of God's Word.

Grace and peace,

Jim Thomas
