"Superficiality is the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant
satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem. The desperate need today is not
for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep
people. The classical disciplines of the spiritual life call us to explore
beyond surface living into the depths." --Richard Foster, The Celebration of
Discipline

Each month for the rest of the calendar year at The Village Chapel, we will
focus our attention on one of the classical spiritual disciplines of the
Christian faith. On the first Sunday of each month we'll break from our
regular verse-by-verse teaching to do a topical study of one of the
spiritual disciplines. Then, throughout that month we'll be encouraged and
equipped to develop that discipline both as individuals and as a church
family.

This Sunday evening, March 2nd our focus will be on the spiritual discipline
of Confession. Precisely what is confession? Is it really good for the soul?
What does the Bible teach about when, to whom, and how we should confess our
sins? I hope you'll plan to join us as we learn more about this wonderful
means of placing ourselves before God for healing and forgiveness.

Rethinking church: new forms for ancient truths

"...and they believed. And when they heard that the LORD was concerned about
them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped." Ex. 4:31

The Village Chapel is a relationship oriented, non-denominational church
that meets on Sunday evenings at 5 pm for worship. The service includes
acoustic praise and worship music, congregational readings, prayer and a
verse-by-verse Bible study. We meet in the atrium room high atop the Hampton
Inn on Crestmoor Rd, just off Hillsboro Rd in Green Hills/Nashville. Loving
childcare is provided.
