| Cheers! I trust all is well in your neck of the woods. I'm back from the Cornfields of Illinois and the oppressive heat of New Orleans and ready with a new Choir e-newsletter update. The cornfields were for Cornerstone and New Orleans was the site of this years' CBA (Christian Booksellers Association). As always, to be removed from the list simply respond back and type Unsubscribe in the subject bard. While at Cornerstone Festival this year I may have met some of you while my wife and I served at the Choir booth (while the Rock Majesties dined in air-conditioned restaurants and cooled by the luxurious hotel pool - no...I'm not bitter!) in the exhibition tent. So nice to make the acquaintances and thanks for keeping us company. The Choir played two shows that week. An acoustic one with just Steve and Derri on Wed. and then the main show on Saturday night. All felt good and we appreciate the support and kind words from those that were there. I believe it was the Festival's largest year yet pushing about 38,000 in attendance. We enjoyed trying out some of the songs from the new record Flap Your Wings like Hey Gene. Steve performed the song Precious Jesus that the Choir recorded for City On A Hill - a new worship record coming out next month. Just so you know, the brand new record from The Choir is currently available on-line at our website http://www.thechoir.net It's called Flap Your Wings and I must say that I am truly proud of Steve and Derri on this record as it is my favorite Choir disk yet. If you can, pick up a copy soon and let us know what you think. TheChoir.net website updates include: City On A Hill page and Audio samples (click the city on a hill red star) Cornerstone pictures (click the cornerstone pix red star) A Flap Your Wings section that includes lyrics, song samples and new bio You can download the song Shiny Floor for free at MP3.com. Click onto http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/49/the_choir.html News: We just released and serviced our first single in nearly 5 years. The song Hey Gene went out to Christian radio two weeks ago. Smalltown Poets have covered the song Beautiful Scandalous Night for their new record. Derri has been busy in the studio co-producing and engineering the new Sheila Walsh record for Integrity. Dan Michaels wants to open a live bait shop with his wife and dog Smokey. Common Children (friends of ours) are working on a new record to be released through the internet. Helping Hands: The Choir genuinely appreciates your help getting the word out on our new record and website. We are depending on word of mouth from our friends to let others know that we have released Flap Your Wings. If you are so inclined, please email your friends, post on the message boards, put up the news and links on your own sites and tell people at your church, college or schools. Since we are not on a record label now, it means a great deal to us when you can help us connect with our old audience. If you have any suggestions for us to let others know about the new release - please email back and tell. If you have Christian radio in your area please email or call to let them know you want to hear Hey Gene too. We thank you very much for all the emails we've received over the past few months and sure don't take for granted all the kind words and support. Keep us in your prayers! Love, Dan Michaels The Choir |
