| 11/27/01 Journal Entry "Like clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of gifts he does not give." (Proverbs 25:14) YESTERDAY...I painted the hallway...exactly two years after promising to do so TOMMOROW in the song "I Don't Mean Any Harm" (See the journal entry from November 26, 1999). Nancy and I worked together for a few days (fixed up the bathroom too) seizing the opportunity while Emily (13) was away on a retreat with our church youth group, and Erin (11) was spending a couple of nights with Hannah Daugherty. Here's the thing, though -- I had a BIG CHOICE. Just a couple of days prior, Bob Wohler and Robert Beeson (Essential Records execs and good buddies of mine) invited me to fly to Vegas with them...to see a championship boxing match...and, you know...enjoy a weekend of revelry. They'd find some album budget to charge the trip to I suppose. Well, dare I admit, the idea appealed to me majorly! NONETHELESS, I honored my commitment to Nancy...and we had a great time slaving away together, listening to music on the hi-fi, ordering pizza and Chinese food, talking about everything under the sun...and just feeling happily married, which is a fine feeling...and one to be cherished, since bliss is fleeting. What's more, Nancy is more impressed by my prowess with a paintbrush than my precision with a tambourine. Anyhow, I was blessed by making the right choice...THIS TIME. Peace on earth, good will toward men AND women... Steve |
