| 3/16/2000 Journal entry "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). Today was my first day to work with Caedmons Call on this "City on a Hill" project. Theyre very gracious people fun, and unpretentious. Todd the drummer, claims to be a big fan of "The Choir," so needless to say, he got off on a good foot with Derri and me. And Garret is a brilliant percussionist, so we made "the rhythm connection" in a major way. Cliff, the lead singer, is a ridiculous character, and Im starting to like him a lot. Danielle showed up with their 5 week-old child precious and lovely! Praise God for such an amazing gift! Ill describe the other band members as I get to know them in the next few days. Most of this first day was spent just loading in getting drum sounds etc. Todd set up a highly unusual kit that Im too tired to describe in detail right now very ethnic, suffice to say. We got a keeper performance from Todd (a truly musical player!) on a song called, "The Dance," written by Kemper Krabb (Is that spelled right?) Its got a great lyric! Next, Jeff did a fine job on the bass guitar. Then we called it an early night (10 oclock) and agreed to meet at the studio tomorrow morning at 10:30. Ah, the creative PROCESS! Steve 3/16/00 |
