"Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him…" (Revelation 1:7)

Well, I planned to be at my friend, Wayne Everett’s wedding in California today…and Gene Eugene was gonna pick me up at the airport, and then mix the ‘Third Day’ song at The Green Room on Sunday for the ‘City on a Hill’ project, but…since Gene died all of a sudden, well…we flew to L.A. last week-end instead to attend his memorial service. Anyhow, happy wedding, Wayne! (I’ve yet to meet his new wife). So…I don’t feel like talking about Gene’s passing publicly just now…can’t adequately articulate my feelings and thoughts at present. It’s good to be walkin’ this earth, though. Left foot. Right foot.

A couple of weeks ago, I spent 4 days working with Caedmon’s Call and had a fine time. They’re all easy to work with, and better at their instruments than I’m used to. They’ve got this teenaged keyboard player named Josh (Piano Boy, I call him) that’s a little too talented for his own good. Then Danielle came in for half a day and sang harmonies on several songs. Silky voice. And she sings right in tune. Cliff’s Mom was out from Texas watching their 5 week- old baby while she was wearin’ the ol’ headphones.

A curious thing happened last Wednesday night. I got a call from the engineer working on the new Sixpence album. It was their first day, actually, and the fancy drum tech couldn’t get Dale’s drums tuned to suit the big time producer…so at 10 o’clock I got the call. I showed up in a jiffy with a drum key (wearing my most colorful shirt), made a few quarter turns on the bottom tom heads and…I’m the guru! The guy with the mojo! Then I went back the next morning for a bit more of the same. Now the producer thinks he needs me and…well, that’s great…and I enjoy hanging out with Dale a lot. He’s a great drummer and a really neat guy. The new Sixpence album is gonna be stunning, by the way. Unfortunately, I can’t stand around with a drum key all day…unless they let me shake a tambourine once in a while!

Peace and light!
