8.20.01 - Derri Daugherty (or...the red devil) recently completed the new Lost Dogs record - "Real Men Cry" for BEC. It'll be out later in September. Stay tuned - I'm told it's fantastic. Derri is also working on a Keith Green tribute record and recently had Michael Tait (DC Talk) and Jennifer Knapp at his Neverland Studio to record vocals on a song.

8.20.01 - In case you haven't heard yet - Dan Michaels' label (me) - Galaxy21 Music is releasing new records from Daniel Amos and Common Children. Stop by www.galaxy21music.com when you get a chance. MP3 audio samples of each record will be up shortly.

8.19.01 - Steve Hindalong has just finished City On A Hill Volume 2. Subtitled "All Creatures Of Our God And King", City 2 features The Choir, Jennifer Knapp, Third Day, C. Call, FFH, Bebo Norman, Phil Keaggy, Nicole Nordeman among others. City 2 will be out shortly after the first of 2002.

8.19.01 - Steve is working with industry veteran producer Brown Bannister (Amy Grant) co-producing and writing a record inspired by author Max Lucado's book "Traveling Light". I'll keep you updated over this multi artist record as it developes over the Fall.

8.18.01 - Old man Skinny told me over the phone today that the Hindalong family vacation was a real hoot! Steve, Nancy (who turns 40 this week), Emily (13) and Erin (11) packed up the family station wagon and left straight after our week at Cornerstone. Highlights include a drive through the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, watching a real cowboy rodeo and Yellowstone National Park. Mygosh - it's 1955 all over again!

8.18.01 - My wife and I were in Southern California recently to attend my sister's wedding. She married a very cool fellow named Gus and the wedding was held in the Wyland Studios art gallery on PCH in Laguna Beach, CA. I played solo soprano sax and began the ceremony with Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" and the wedding march. Click Here for a couple of photos.

6.17.01 - Just back in from One Festival in Memphis, TN. The Choir performed a fun set to a small, yet enthusiastic crowd. Steve and Derri also performed a Worship set along with Marc Byrd and Christine Glass and played "God Of Wonders", "Beautiful Scandalous Night", "Precious Jesus" among others. Also, at the festival - Daniel Amos, 77s, Cush, Mike Knott and Undercover. Undercover debuted a brand new song that very well may end up on a new record if we can get them into the studio this year.

5.20.01 - Long time Choir friend and bass player Tim Chandler has finaly made the move east to live in Nashville! Tim and his family are relocating to Music City USA from Southern California right now.

5.20.01 - Steve is currently producing a record for Integrity Music's Paul Baloche. Baloche is a renowned worship leader, songwriter.

4.29.01 - The Choir is presently working on an eight CD (yes - 8) box set. The working title is 20 Years - Never Say Never. This box set will feature all studio releases from Voices in Shadows through Free Flying Soul as well as a CD of two brand new Choir songs (one of them is a work in progress and you can hear it on mp3.com (www.mp3.com/thechoir), b-sides, remixes and mystery music!! Expect some very cool packaging and a 64 page book. We'll update you more shortly, but this set will bow on June 13th, 2001.

4.29.01 - The Choir announces first Electronica remix of one of their songs. Entitled "What Is The Cherry Bomb"? this Electronica/Dance remix can be heard at MP3.com/TheChoir and the special edition radio single can be bought in the "Own Music" store.

4.29.01 - Congratulations to our own Steve Hindalong for winning a Dove Award last Thursday at the 32nd annual Dove Awards. Steve took home the bird for City On A Hill in the category of Special Events Album of The Year - whoooooopppiee!!

3.12.01 - The Heroes of Christian Modern Rock Night! 77s, The Choir, Terry Taylor with Phil Madeira, Lost Dogs and just added - Riki Michele from Adam Again will be playing at Gibson's Cafe Milano during GMA week in Nashville, TN. Tuesday April 24th, 2001 at 9pm. This is a closed event to GMA (Gospel Music Association) registrants only, however 50 tickets (24 tix left!) only are on sale to the general public. Go to "own music" if you wish to attend.

2.22.01 - Steve Hindalong is working hard on City On A Hill Volume 2. He's been so busy on this project that I haven't seen him in nearly two weeks. He left a few messages to say that all is going well - the Choir will be doing a song again for the project. Steve's parents - Paul and Marti Hindalong are both on their way to Russia to teach and minister over there for the next 5 years! Please pray for them.

2.22.01 - Derri is in California with Terry Taylor and Mike Roe recording a new Lost Dogs record for BEC Recordings. I'll pass on details as they come in.

1.30.01 - Steve Hindalong gets multiple Dove Award nominations for his work on City On A Hill. Steve was nominated for Best Song Of The Year for "God Of Wonders" along with co-writer Marc Byrd. "God Of Wonders" was also nominated for Best Pop Song. City On A Hill was nominated for Best Special Events Record. And the big news is that Steve himself was nominated for Best Producer Of The Year. This year's Dove Awards show will be held in Nashville on April 26th.

The label is an artist friendly home for my friends that I am privileged to serve like 77s, the Choir, Daniel Amos, Buck Enterprises and hopefully many more.

12.12.00 - Choir friend Chris Colbert just finished mixing the Gene Eugene tribute show from Cornerstone 2000. This was the tribute concert performed by Derri, Steve H., Mike Roe, Sim Wilson, Mike Knott and Adam Again in honor of the late Gene Eugene. Entitled, Adam Again - A Tribute To Gene Eugene, Live At Cornerstone 2000. This is a two CD set - Disk one will contain the remixed version of the live show along with a brand new song from Adam Again's Riki Michele called "Mystery In You". Disc 2 is the acoustic solo record from Adam Again's Greg Lawless called Prayers And Lowsongs. The CD is also enhanced with a Gene Eugene music video of River On Fire, pictures from the concert and a video trailer that includes some concert footage and artist interviews. The set comes out January 17th on Galaxy21 Music.

12.12.00 - Long time Choir friend Brian Healy (Dead Artist Syndrome) was hospitalized last week after suffering a heart attack. Brian went through an Angioplasty procedure today and is in stable but guarded condition. He is at Good Samaritan hospital in Los Angeles. Prayers are appreciated. Steve's City On A Hill project continues to dominate the Christian radio charts. Steve and Marc Byrd song "God Of Wonders" remains the number 1 song on AC radio for the past month. "God Of Wonders" has also crossed radio formats and is charting high on CHR and Inspirational radio.

The Choir's first radio single in over 4 years "Hey Gene" has recently charted on the CCM Update's radio chart at number 19 and the Progressive Airplay Journal at number 14. "Hey Gene" continues to get added on rock radio stations and shows around the country.
