1.18.03 - (pictured left) That's me holding Riki Michele's (adam again) newborn Sydney. Galaxy21's Riki gave birth to her beautiful new daughter on Thanksgiving 11/28/02. More info and pictures at www.rikimichele.com.
- Steve and Derri finished producing folkish singer/songwriter Andrew Petersen's new album for essential records. Now they are both gearing up to work on City On A Hill volume 3 along with Marc Byrd.
- Speaking of Marc, his group GlassByrd just released their new single to Christian radio. Listen for a song called "I Stand Amazed". BTW - GlassByrd is on WarnerChristian/Curb record and not on Galaxy21. Keep an eye out for their record Open Wide This Window in February.
- Well, sorry to say here that The Choir was not invited to play at Cornerstone 2003 this year. I'll miss seeing all of you that are regulars. However, Derri Daugherty will be there with The Lost Dogs and performing a solo set too.
1.18.03 cont. - Congratulations to Steve Hindalong! The nominees for the 2003 Dove Awards show was announced a few days ago. Ol' Skinny was nominated for Producer Of The Year. After many dozens of submissions for nearly every producer in Christian music, Steve was nominated in the top 5. In addition, Steve's City On A Hill vol. 2 Sing Alelujia was nominated for Best Special Event album of the year. Good luck to Steve for the awards show on April 10th 2003! ps. The Choir was included in Special Event nomination as they appeared on Sing Alelujia!
10.31.02 - I recently spent a few days out in Los Angeles participating in some Grammy committee meetings, playing on a record and beach bummin' around. Click HERE to view some pix from the trip.
- Marc Byrd from Common Children and his wife Christine Glass plan to have their new record out around February of 2003. Previously called "Adore", it's now called GlassByrd.
- Steve Hindalong begins work next week produceing on Essential Records artist Andrew Petersen.
10.20.02 - For those of you that didn't know, Riki Michele (Adam Again) is expecting her first baby around Thanksgiving this year. Yesterday, my wife Lisa hosted the baby shower event at our home. 10.11.02 - Choir and G21 News briefs:
- Steve Hindalong is currently in a Music Row studio producing a young modern rock band on Floodgate Records called Cool Hand Luke.
- I just stopped over Derri's house yesterday. He said the Lost Dogs tour has been a lot of fun. He's happy for this break, but looks forward to going out again. Derri said that the Dogs are playing a wedding on the next leg of touring! And I only thought of a string quartet for my wedding!
- Derri has a 5 song CD out of some great solo material called "A Few Unfinished Songs". A must listen - classic Derri...Beautifull, elegant - it just sounds wonderful.
- Steve and Derri recorded a Christmas album called City On A Hill - It's Christmas Time. Features Derri, Terry Taylor, Sara Groves, Jars Of Clay, Third Day and a whole bunch more. It just released to stores the other week and you can find it in our webstore at www.thechoir.net/store.
-Marc Byrd from Common Children is in the studio right now producing the new SONICFLOOd record for INO Records.
- Yours truly flies out to Los Angeles in a few weeks to participate in the Grammy Steering Committee. The Grammy people contacted me several weeks ago to serve on the committee that screens label submissions of product for Grammy consideration. Ah...always happy to visit LA and Jerry's Deli.
- Brian Healy from Dead Artist Syndrome has been working in the studio on a brand new full length CD with Christian band all-around pal Jeff Elbel.
9.2.02 - Choir pals, Undercover are currently mixing their brand new studio album called "I Rose Falling" due out in October on Galaxy21 Music.
- Derri Daugherty is producing a worship record with various guest vocalist for English-based Kingsway Records. Rumor has it that Riki Michele from Adam Again might lend her voice. Speaking of Riki - she is now about 6 months pregnant with her first baby!
-Time-Life recently contacted The Choir and has asked to put the song "Beautiful Scandalous Night" on their next Songs 4 Worship Vol. 5! We said yes of course. Watch for The Choir on some late-night direct TV commercial in the near future!

4.15.02 - Steve Hindalong spent a big chunk of his time the past few months working on a record called Traveling Light. It's a multi-artist compilation record of original material written by Steve Hindalong, Marc Byrd, Brown Bannister and some of the artists that participated.

3.31.02 - Mike Stand (from the Altar Boys and Clash Of Symbols) joins the Galaxy21 music team! Mike has been working on a new record lately and it's almost finished. The record is called "Full Circle" and should be available in early May 2002. If you want to see what's been going on with Mike, please stop by his website at www.altaboys.com. The rough mixes from this record have been showcasing some excellent songwriting and very cool vocals and performances from the band. Both the Altar Boys and Mike (solo) will be playing at Cornerstone 2002.

3.17.02 - It's official. The Choir is at Cornerstone 2002. The full band show is at the Gallery stage on Friday July 5th around 7pm. There will be an acoustic performance on Thursday July 4th around 4pm at the "Silent Planet" stage.
2.11.02 - Steve Hindalong was in the studio with Sonicflood singer Rick Heil. Steve and Marc Byrd (Common Children/Adore) are co-producing a record called "God Of Wonders" that will feature Sonicflood, Jars Of Clay, Third Day, Jason Ingram, Adore and a bunch more. 2.11.02 - Dan (me) Michaels was recently in Dallas, TX to visit with one of the bands he works with at INO Records, MercyMe. MercyMe played a "BrownBag" noon concert at the Vista Ridge Mall to a crowd of thousands. This was the first time I flew since 9/11 - and I must say that I was pretty anxious. So, does that show a lack of faith? Anyhow, click on the picture to the left for a larger view.

1.28.02 - In the "neato" department - an online readers poll at Christianity Today places The Choir's Flap Your Wings in the lead as the album they would vote for the Grammy Award.
1.28.02 - Hey, Steve and Derri are both up for Dove Awards. Steve is nominated for Producer of The Year, his song "God Of Wonders" (with Marc Byrd) is up for Song Of The Year and Derri is co-producer on the Twila Parris children's record, Bedtime Prayers Lullabies and Peaceful Worship which was nominated for a Dove award by the Gospel Music Association. Winners will be announced at the Dove Awards live from Nashville on April 25th, 2002
1.28.02 - Steve Hindalong is currently in the studio producing new Squint artist "Adore". Adore is Marc Byrd from Common Children along with his wife Christine Glass.
01.07.02 - Last Friday - January 4th, 2002 The Grammys were announced and The Choir's Flap Your Wings was nominated for "Best Rock Gospel" Record of the Year! This small indie release was nominated among CCM's top artists like DC Talk and SONICFLOOd. Flap Your Wings was the first release on artist owned and operated Galaxy21 Music (Rev. 21:1). 01.07.01 - Steve Hindalong was at Derri's Neverland studio to record vocals on INO Records artist Sara Groves. Sara sang on the title track for Traveling Light - a multi artist compilation that Steve is co-producting with verteren producer Brown Bannister.
